Publication date for Steven George & The Dragon

Steven George & The Dragon, a young adult novel by Nathan Everett, will be published March 25, 2011. We are now taking advance orders. The book is in the final stages of layout and design with colorful cover art that has a bit of whimsy along with a sense of foreshadowing.

We’re taking advance orders and are donating half of the gross profits from presales, up to and including the release party on 3/25, to Room to Read. Written for NaNoWriMo in 2007, Stn George was intended to help support this great organization  as part of a continuing effort to raise fund for libraries in developing countries by publishing books here.

The book will be available in paperback and on CD-ROM in both the deluxe color PDF edition and the DRM-free ePUB that will play on most eReaders. If you specifically want a Kindle edition or Nook edition, those will be available on the 25th of March at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. All pre-orders will be signed copies and there is a space on the order form to indicate how you’d like yours personalized.

Steven George (not to be confused with the saint who shares a last name) is a dragonslayer, raised to defend his village should a dragon ever attack. But when he is finally sent to fulfill his mission, he discovers that he is woefully unprepared for the big world outside his remote village. Perhaps that is because none of the elders know what a dragon looks like, precisely where it lives, or how to kill it. But Steven makes his way by trading “once-upon-a-times” with the people he meets. Each improbable tale leads him nearer to the truth about his quest.

If all that looks like a dragon is not a dragon, then it follows that all that is a dragon may not look like a dragon.
