Starting a New Chapter in Life

QDormYesterday, I took my daughter to college. She cleaned her room and made her bed at home, then we loaded all her belongings into the car and moved her into her dormitory. We helped unpack, hung out a little, went to the president’s reception for “new parents,” and then, with a hug, left her at 7:00 p.m. to start a new chapter in her life as a college student. In the parking lot outside the dormitory, I gave my daughter a hug and said simply, “I’ll miss you.” She hugged me back and said, “Daa-aad. Go have an adventure.”

This is a brief introductory post for beginning such a significant chapter in my life, I know. But I really want to get on the road.
