spooky... excited... exhausted

I suddenly got to feeling shaky this afternoon about 4:00. Thought I must be having sugar crash or such, so quickly ate a hotdog and a glass of milk, but still didn't improve. I got home about 5:15 and sat down to do a little work and was so overwhelmed with fatigue that I fell asleep in my chair for an hour. The shakes dissipated with the rest. Man, what a spooky feeling!

On the bright side, however, I made reservations today to go to Palm Springs at the end of the month. I'm afraid that I'll miss my class reunion because I've decided to go to California instead of Indiana, but I had to decide what I needed most. Let's face it:If you just want to see a bunch of old people, it's a toss-up between my class reunion and Palm Springs.

I plan to spend the week soaking up the heat and trying to get the cold out of my bones, catching up on my rest, and finishing the three manuscripts that I need to have ready for publication and submission in July. I can spend some time generating the first e-books for our store at http://www.longtalepress.com. I want to get the business plan finished so that we can all talk equally intelligibly about or business and know that we are consistent with the story and with each other. I know it sounds like I'll be working just as hard in Palm Springs as I am here, but it will be a very different kind of work.

I chose Palm Springs becaus it was at the intersection of where I could exchange a condo that week, and where I could afford to fly to. The entire week with airfare, condo, and car will cost less than $500. That's about the limit of what I can spend untill we get this house finished and on the market.

My car is still in the shop. They say it will be out tomorrow. It broke down a week ago. By the time they are done it will cost almost as much to repair as the car is worth in the first place. Aarrgh!
