Long Tale Press

I've just gotten inside the pre-beta of LongTalePress.com. Wow! It is really coming together the way we dreamed of it. Jason says we should be able to go to public beta next Friday! That's good timing as we will all be at the PNWA Writers Conference Thursday through Sunday and will get to promote it. I'm considering what else we might do for promo. I have some ideas. We'll see. Marketing, yuck!

We will open a new game as soon as the site is up titled "Would you publish this today?" You'll get a chance to read the submissions from some of the "classics" and give them your thumbs up or thumbs down on whether you would spend $5 to read the rest of this story. (Not a solicitation to buy; just our guage of whether it is worth publishing.) I've read a few of the opening chapters and there are some real grabbers. But there are also some that were pushed down our throats in high school that I think "Why would anyone actually read this?"

The site will also open to accept submissions after Friday, so get those manuscripts polished! There will even be books in the bookstore that you can download on the spot, including:
and
hopefully even more.

I know it is all premature to announce this before we are actually ready to go live, but I'm so excited I can't help it, and I know you will all be excited, too. More as the week progresses.
