Fiddler Opening tonight!

Amazingly, we open "Fiddler on the Roof" tonight. It seems like I've been going to rehearsals every night forever. And the show has come together. We were a little rough in final dress rehearsal last night, but that just means that opening will be spectacular.

Get tickets!
I'll have to spend most of the afternoon cooking for the Gala. Each person in the cast brings an apetizer or dessert to serve pre-show and at intermission. Of course, since I cook for the board, another cast member asked if I'd cook for her and she'd pay for the ingredients. The beef roast that cooked most of the day yesterday looks and smells fantastic. This afternoon I'll shred it and saute with onions, potatoes, and carrots and stuff it into fresh bread dough. I'll bake that and transfer the fresh piroshky to an electric roaster to stay warm until 6:30. They will be fantastic! Not Kosher, but yummy.

This week, things have suddenly started to look up. I got a contract extension that I've been waiting for for two months. I'm back at the eBook gig now, in addition to converting all the Long Tale Press books to ePub and getting ready for first print run of some of them. (Including mine.)

Then, for the first time in 12 months of unemployment, I got a call yesterday for a phone interview for a job. It's a long-shot, but good position with a well-established publishing company. Only problem is it is located three time-zones away from where I live now. That could call for some creative living arrangements.

And last, the State Department of Employment Prevention (Unemployment Insurance) resolved my claim for benefits after two months and approved benefits for the time I've been off work, so I should get a bit of a check soon. This, too, is good news.

Wow! Maybe the best week I've had in a long-long time. At least since my birthday party in September.
