NaNoWriMo Numbers 7 & 8 Complete!

I did what I thought was impossible this month. I've done and won NaNoWriMo six times, so that wasn't the problem. The problem was I set a couple of new challenges for myself. First, write something that was completely different than anything I'd written before. I chose to do a literary fiction that took place inside the head of a chronically homeless man. That was a little scary, because what do I really know about being homeless? Not enough, I'll tell you that.

The second challenge was to write two completely different books at the same time during NaNoWriMo. Hence my claim that NaNos 7 and 8 are now complete. For the second book, I chose to do another sequel to For Blood or Money. It is also a sequel to debriley Municipal Blondes that I blogged here on Live Journal in 2006. Stocks & Bondage is a new Deb Riley Mystery that puts my heroine through a wringer. I didn't quite kill her, but it was close.

Here are the covers:

50,697 words.
51,340 words.

Hope your November was successful as well!

Awesome, congratulations! Love the covers.

I wrote 18 pages (front and back) longhand while on vacation, so I got some writing in! I'll call it a successful month, even if it wasn't a Nano month. :)
Nice to have you back! Glad you got some writing done.

So which would you like? You won your choice of a printed and bound copy of either of the books in the "sponsor me" contest. Of course, you could just read "Stocks & Bondage" online, so if I were you, I'd choose "The Volunteer." But it is your choice. LMK.

Glad you like the covers.
Yay! "The Volunteer" sounds great :)
