Senior Moment

I don't try to conceal my age. I'm 61 years old, and earned every year of it. I've always been told, though, that I don't look it. That's nice for the ego.

I didn't even think twice on Sunday when the local theater gave me a senior ticket for Tron2. I was thankful that the $14 ticket was discounted to $11. I think it's the first time that I've paid more for my daughter's ticket than my own.

But I was running errands yesterday when I got really hungry and started a blood sugar plunge that let me know I hadn't eaten in the morning. I couldn't decide what to grab when I noticed that I was next to an Old Country Buffet. I cannot decide which of the following has shocked me the most:
  1. That I actually ate at Old Country Buffet.

  2. What I ate at Old Country Buffet. (Who knew I was in the mood for fried rice and Gen'l Tso Chicken, stir fried vegetables, a chicken leg, potato salad, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and frozen yoghurt with somekind of hot chocolate pudding cake?)

  3. That I was automatically offered the senior discount and told that if I waited until 1:00--in five minutes--I would get the meal for only $6.90 instead of $8.95.

  4. That I waited the five minutes.

Combined, I'd say that makes a definite senior moment. I'm not going to rush out and color my white beard today, but I am going to eat lunch before I go out!

I can't believe that $11 is the discounted price for a movie ticket! :)
I think they were charging extra for the nice 3D glasses that you were supposed to leave in the recycle bin after the show. :p I took mine with me. I hope to see the world in a new dimension!
