Seattle Area Authors—Will you donate a signed book?

Each year I donate (or organize the donation) of an item for the Studio East auction in November. Our theme for the auction this year is “No Place Like Home,” a nod to our summer teen musical in Kirkland, “The Wizard of Oz.” So I thought that this year I’d put together a library of autographed books by local authors as part of my auction item. Of course, that means that I have to solicit a donation of your book from you.

Studio East—Training for the Performing Arts has been a Kirkland fixture for nearly 20 years. Thousands upon thousands of children and youth have participated in Studio East programs as attendees, students, and performers. Many children from Everett to Tacoma have had their first exposure to live theater through one of our programs. Last year we moved into a beautiful new theatre in the Totem Lake area that has enabled us to increase the number of classes, activities, and main-stage productions, expand our home-school arts program, keep our professional touring productions of Storybook Theater on the road, offer after-school rehearsals and performances through our Artreach program, and nurture both the artistic and personal growth of the area’s children and youth.

I will provide a receipt for your donation from Studio East, come to pick up your book donation, and list your name and title of your work in the Auction program. Three of my own books will join yours on the “Read Local” Library Shelf. Please contact me at wayzgoose@nwesignatures.com if you are willing to participate. On behalf of both the theater and writing community in the Pacific Northwest, I thank you!
