Impromptu Class Reunion
I’m sure we all have very different memories of high school—some pleasant and some painful. From my own perspective, I always felt a little like an outsider in high school. It was circumstantial, not intentional. I moved to Etna Green the summer before my Sophomore year and entered Triton High School in Bourbon as a cocky “big school” kid in a very small school. In addition to the fact that my mother was a minister and I was gung ho to become one as well, most of my classmates had known each other since first grade. You just can’t fight chemistry like that. I was still finding out 20 and 30 years later what was happening with my classmates while I was tamely sitting at home, anxious to be gone to college. I didn’t even know about the parties, who had dated whom, or everyone else’s triumphs and insecurities.
