What the Future Holds

One thing about driving 7,000 miles in a month is that it gives you a lot of time to think. Twice yesterday, I had to pull into a rest area or coffee shop to write down the plot thoughts that had entered my mind during the drive. It slowed down my progress, but I had only 350 miles to drive and got an early start, so I decided I could afford the delay. Besides, I’m crossing time zones headed west and I gained an hour at the end of the day.

While I’m still promoting and talking and writing about The Gutenberg Rubric, my mind has shifted to a new noir detective mystery tentatively titled “To Be or Be Lost.” It is a prequel to For Blood or Money and presents a number of unique challenges. Periodically, I think of phrases or whole story/scenes that will find their way into the book. The sequence of events in the plot are beginning to gel, though I still need to put them all down in order in an outline before I start writing on November 1.

Read the rest at The Rubricant!

I want to continue the tradition of doing something good and meaningful with my writing career.
