What I've learned from Anne Hathaway...

It's probably not all her movies, but it's not often that you can pretty welll write the lessons of life from the career of one actress. Especially one who makes the name of Shakespeare's mistress so completely contemporary. So here are a few lessons:

You can rock with the big bad wolf (Riding Hood)
Be a princess (Princess Diaries 1)
Marry a Prince (Princess diaries 2)
Marry a queent (Brokeback Mountain)
Work for the devil (The Devil Wears Prada)

and still be all-round sweet and sexy, and have your whole life ahead of you. By the way, The Devil Wears Prada was reallyt very good, even if you are not like my DW who says she would watch Meryl Streep read hyer grocery list. DD really needs to see this one.

I also went to see MI III this afternoon. I liked the pre-Tom Cruise MI better. You know, the one in which it was all about how quickly you could pull a switch and solve an unbreakable problem than how many times you can be beaten to a pulp and shake it off. Best scene in this was his team shooting baseballs from one building to the next in order to distract the guards. QUickly followed by his pendulum swing vrom one tall building to another.

All the rest of the violenceyou can put in a paper bag and dump in the trash. There just isn't any tension in seeing how many times you can bet beaten up or shot at and still win the girl. Too much torture.

Then I came down here to my favorite brew-pug for a beer and a plate of Jambalaya. Yum. Only I forgot or lost my reading glasses, so if there are typos in this it's because I can't see what Im typing. I can't read my friends page because it doesn't do the one thing that any web page should do: Allow for enlarging the type. I tried to write some more on my chapter synopsis, but I can't see what I'm typing, so I'm not too sure how much sense it will make when I read it at home.

So now I'll go back home, find reading glasses and try to write some more.Hope I can read the credit slip when they bring it to me.

If your default layout doesn't let you enlarge the font, the light version might. Add ?format=light to the end of the URL.
No, that didn't do it, but I discovered if I work my way into the point where I can make notes... that screen I can enlarge the type on.

Back home now so I have several pair of glasses to choose from.
Oh right... that's not going to work on the first friends page anyway. *smacks forehead*

Yay, glasses!
I've missed you! Glad to know you've been doing well, and I want to see that movie sooooo badly but haven't gotten the chance.

I need to work on my nano ideas... eh? :)
Thank you! I've been pretty busy at work lately and have barely been able to keep up with my Friends list and plotting Security & Exchange. That, at least, is going well. I stop in at the Dupont Circle Site occasionally to see what new things you've written. Would love to bounce around your ideas for nano this fall. LMK.
It was a pretty good weekend, though not as productive as I hoped. Hope your story is gaining some words this week!
