NaNoWriMo is coming

I don't know why I am so psyched about NaNoWriMo this year. It's not that my story-line is great, in fact, I think last year's results will far outshine this year's. But last November marked a kind of peak in my creative productivity and already this year I've noted that I'm writing better at work, thinking sharper, drawing better.

I'm pretty pleased with the design of this year's book site. Oh yes, I'll be blogging the novel as part of NaNoBlogMo. The trick on blogging the book is to make it look and feel a little like a book. So I do things like putting up a table of contents and show only one entry on the front with navigation to the rest of the book. Last year, I intentionally kept my entries short (tried to blog an entry for every week in a random year (1999) in a small town in Indiana) and so each entry was equivalent to a chapter of the book. I've got a more linear story-line this year so I expect there to be fewer, multi-entry, chapters. I'm not sure how I'm going to manipulate that in the TOC.

BTW, you can read last year's doctored up and decorated blog at http://www.willowmills.blogspot.com. This year's address is http://www.accidentalwitness.blogspot.com with an on-going "thought board" where I'm developing the concepts at http://www.neverett.blogspot.com. Well, I'm supposed to be working, not blogging. Better go.
