In line for an iPhone

Well, Eric was here all night, so we are numbers 2 and 3 on "the list" here at University Village. There were about 20 who stayed the night. When I got here with donuts this morning, Starbucks had already delivered coffee and someone else brought some muffins. There is a pretty upbeat attitude here and most people are excited to get their phones.

SO, who is buying? Most of the people I've talked to here are buying two phones and plan to sell at least one of them on e-bay. Opening bids that I've heard have run the range from $700 to $1200. There is at least one person standing near me who is being paid $200 to stand in line for someone else. The fist guy in line, however, is here to buy a phone for himself and one for his brother. There are two here who are buying phones for study at MS, and I've heard that Sony has a buyer here as well. Things are pretty relaxed and there are a lot of newscasters roaming around interviewing people as if this was actually news. The story was on the front page of the PI and I've seen two radio interviewers and one television.

On the other hand, reports from the local mall indicated that there were only three people inline and that they store has already said they have 40 phones. Rumors have indicated that this store may have as many as 1500, but those have not been confirmed. I see a newspaper photographer here now, as well. The plan is that the store will close at 2:00 this afternoon and that it will re-open exclusively for the sale of iPhones from 6:00-midnight. If they are planningon being open that long, I would think they would have a pretty good number in stock.

I'll take some pictures and post them soon. I took a video of the line when I got here.

WOW! That's ridiculous. I hope your effort it worth it!

Let me know if you love the iPhone. I can't believe it's that expensive. Please tell me your job is paying for it... :P
